Welcome to Lavistown House – Centre for Creative Living
In the 1970′s we were the pioneers in teaching people how to garden, make bread, weave a basket, find mushrooms and harvest nature’s bounty from the hedgerows. Since then many people have joined us to learn, create and have fun.
Now our second generation of visitors want to know how to grow what they eat, learn more about our natural world and use their hands to make delicious food, create an object or just have a special experience away from the busy world.
We offer the pleasure of learning to live a little more creatively, of doing something for the pleasure of doing it, of learning a new skill or of seeing new things. We promise a warm welcome, great teaching and the pleasure of learning at a relaxed pace and lots of fun! We also promise great coffee, home baking and delicious food. We have free parking and our garden room is fully wheelchair accessible. So, if you’re a green fingered garden wizard or a budding gardener who can’t tell a perennial from an annual or someone with a hankering to smell fresh bread in their own kitchen, we invite you to join us.
All our activities take place in our newly refurbished centre located in the beautiful surroundings of our 200 year old Georgian house. Our two acres of gardens offer the perfect place to relax. We’re also only three miles from Kilkenny city so why not make a weekend of it?
We’d love to see you soon!
