Welcome to Lavistown House- Centre for Creative Living
Lavistown is a restful and inspiring place where you can focus without day-to-day interruptions; it is a perfect venue for running or attending courses. There is a workroom and lunch room for 10-15 people and a small kitchen for food preparation. We provide free tea and coffee; there is wifi and the centre is wheelchair accessible. You can also enjoy the newly planted gardens and share in their development
It is only 5 kilometres from Kilkenny and within easy reach of motorways and rail services.

Monthly Garden Workshops
A monthly Garden Workshop allows you learn to garden with a like-minded group of fellow gardeners – all levels welcome. The aim is to have a social, fun group while taking part in hands-on demonstrations, Q&A sessions and getting to see the development of the gardens at Lavistown. The dates for 2016 are shown below. To book just text 086 840 7754 a few days before the course date and we will reserve a place. The cost is €30, pay on the day. The course starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm with lunch and handouts included in the cost.

Plant Sale 2016
Our hugely popular Plant Sale happens every April and the 2016 date is on Saturday, April 16th. We offer an extensive range of perennial plants & shrubs – all propagated from the garden at Lavistown. We aim to produce hardworking, tough and dependable plants that will make your garden look great! Our plant list is available here.
Biodiversity Centre – we have an ongoing relationship with the National Biodiversity Centre in Waterford who run some of their courses here during the year. See www.biodiversityireland.ie for more information.
Our long established Mushroom Hunt led by Roger Goodwillie will take place on Saturday 15th October from 10am to 5.30pm. We will spend most of the time out searching for fungi in all their variety of shape and colour but then will cook and taste the edible ones. There are 16 places on this course which sell out fast so book a place below.
This year we have linked up with Croan Cottages (www.croancottages.com) who will provide lunch for us in their lovely centre near Castlemorris Woods. They also offer self- catering accommodation if you wish to stay longer.
